My Bumbo Seat

My bumbo seat is one of my favorite things right now.  I don't like to lay on my back as much anymore so my mom and dad put me in my seat so that I can sit up and see what is going on around me.  I sit in it when I eat and also when my mom is cooking dinner.  When she's cooking I get to sit in my seat on the island and we talk back and forth and the best part is that I get to see what is going on because I don't want to miss out on anything.  I also can lean over and reach my toys that are beside of my seat if I feel like playing or just chewing on them.

Going For A Walk

My mom and dad took me for a walk in the neighborhood.  My mom thought that I looked so small sitting in the stroller without my car seat.  I liked going on the walk and my dad took me closer to the cows at the edge of our neighborhood.  He wanted to see what kind of reaction I would have to them but I just thought they were ok and I was ready to keep walking.  I think my mom and dad was expecting me to make some kind of face at the cows but I didn't feel like I just kept my serious look the whole time.

I have discovered that I can do many things with my plug and it has become one of my favorite things to pass the time.  I like to take it in and out of my mouth; turn it around and put back in my mouth.  I also like to take it out of my mouth and just turn it all around and look at it.  My mom took a picture of me when I took it out of my mouth and laid it on my face.  I left it there for a little bit while she was changing my diaper and then called for my dad to come and see.

Ode To Mawmaw Deck

The other day I was taking a nap and everybody thought it was cute because of the way I was laying.  I hear that Mawmaw Deck sleeps the same way.  We must be on to something because I woke up feeling nice and rested.

Getting My Ears Pierced

August 14

Today my mom and dad took me to get my ears pierced.  They talked a long time in the store about if they should do it or not and which earrings to pick.  Finally they made a decision and my dad took some pictures and a video of the whole thing.

My Uncle Bradley Got Married

August 6

Today mom, dad, and I took a road trip to see my uncle Bradley get married.  Dad had to work so me and mom went to pick him up as soon as he got off and we were on our way.  We rode for about 3 hours and I slept the whole time.  The wedding was at the place called Natural Bridge and it was in Virginia.  We took a shuttle to the spot where the ceremony was.  It was outside and very pretty.  It was hot out there but I didn't really mind until the end when I started to really get hot.  My mom gave me a bottle during the ceremony so I was a happy girl.  Later we went inside at the hotel to have the reception.  My mom and dad fed me my baby food and a little bit of my bottle.  It was the first time that I sat in a high chair and it wasn't that bad.  They did have to put a blanket in it with me since I didn't take up much room in the chair.  I got tired and took a nap on a blanket on the floor while the grown-ups ate.  After they had cake we said good-bye and headed home.  Since it was a long trip back I slept on the way back.

I'm 4 Months Old

August 1

I'm 4 months old and had a big day.  I got my four month shots at the doctor,  mom painted my toes, I played, and dad gave me some ice cream and I learned that I loved it!!!!
Things I can do now:
* I roll to my side when I see a toy and reach for it but if it's too much work I just lay on my back and scoot to it.
* I recognize my mom and dad when they walk into a room or turn towards the sound of their voice.
* I start to get a little upset when they leave.
* I talk and squeal even more.  Everyone says that my squeal is like my dad's was when he was a baby.
* I'm eating baby food now.
* Foods I love - oatmeal, apples with cinnamon, peaches, and prunes.
* Foods I like - sweet potatoes with cinnamon, peas, and mangoes.
* Foods I don't like - avocado, bananas, and rice cereal.
* My stats from the doctor: weight - 15 lbs (80th percentile on my chart), height - 24 3/4 inches, hear circumference - 16 1/4 inches
* I'm still wearing size 1 diapers and 3 - 6 months clothes.
* I can take my plug out and put it back in my mouth.
* I can hold my bottle by myself now.
